Conference Details Conference and Graph Theory Day (June 10): 9-11 June 2016. The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India has declared 10th June of each year as Graph Theory Day and has been providing financial support to organize a major Conference/Workshop in Discrete Mathematics around this date. The Academy of Discrete Mathematics and Applications (ADMA), and Siddaganga Institute of Technology (S.I.T), Tumkur are jointly organizing the Fourth International Conference on Discrete Mathematics (ICDM-2016) in S.I.T Campus as part of its 12th Annual Conference (9-11 June 2016). A Pre-Conference Instructional Workshop on Recent Advances in Signed Graphs and their Applications (6-8 June 2016) will also be held at the same venue. Combinatorics and Graph Theory are closely related to major thrust areas of current research in Discrete Mathematics with tremendous potential for applications in various fields such as Computer Science, Sociology, Psychology, Chemistry, Physics, Economics and several other real life problems. A lot of research is going on in various institutions all over the world in the related areas such as Combinatorial Optimization, Graph Theory, Parallel Computation, Interconnection Networks, Matroids Theory, Algorithms, Coding Theory, Cryptography etc. The purpose of this conference is to bring together experts and young researchers and provide platform for discussions on recent advances in the relevant research areas through the invited talks and research paper presentation. The academic program of the conference will consist of plenary talks, Special Invited Talks, invited Talks and paper/poster presentations. Each participant will be given a copy of the lecture notes along with the conference kit. The lectures may be either comprehensive surveys or talks based on original research. Papers for presentation Participants who wish to present their papers may send one hard copy and one soft copy of the same to Dr. P. S. K. Reddy, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur-572 103 (E-mail: [email protected]). All papers submitted for presentation will be screened by a screening committee and only 12 papers recommended by the committee will be considered for oral presentation and the remaining ones for poster presentation. However, all applicants will be allowed for attending the Conference subject to their registration. The deadline for submission of abstracts has been extended to 16th May 2016. Abstracts of papers recommended for presentation will be included in the lecture notes. Conference Proceedings The Conference Proceedings will consist of refereed versions of invited talks and papers presented (oral or poster) at the conference. It is proposed to publish the Proceedings in the Indian Journal of Discrete Mathematics within about six months from the last date of the conference. The last date for receiving full papers, at most 20 pages, double-space typed on A-4 size papers in 11 point font size LaTeX/PDF format has been extended to 16th May 2016. Endowment Lectures 1. Pre-Conference Workshop on Recent Advances in Signed graphs and their Applications: 6-8 June, 2016 Signed graphs have several applications in Circuit design, Coding theory, Fault diagnosis, Physics and Social psychology, etc. and some of the problems in these areas can be better studied using the concept of signed graphs. Since then, mathematicians have written numerous papers on the topic of signed graphs. The purpose of this workshop is to bring together experts and young researchers to provide a platform for discussion of recent advances in Signed graphs and their applications. The workshop will be of instructional in nature and basic concepts with directions for further research will be discussed. Apart from lectures, in-depth discussion on the front-line challenging problems on various topics will be done. It is hoped that these in-depth discussions and lectures by the invited speakers will motivate the young researchers to enter into some of the highly fertile research areas in the theory of signed graphs.
